Magic Referee Leadership
Val and Alex bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to referee leadership, managament, and education.
Together they coordinate and assign referees for Magic home games, as well as provide continued education and mentorship.

Referee Certification
Age Requirement:
Students must be 13 years and older at the time of registration.
Registration:
Cost of registration: $75 per student.
Background Check Fee:
- Students aged 18 years and older: $32 background check fee.
- Students aged 18 years and older from another country: $150 background check fee.
Registration Period and Officiating Opportunities:
Registration is for the 2024 program.
Once you graduate from the course, you can officiate games for the remainder of 2023 and throughout 2024.
Course Structure:
- Online Sessions: 7-9 hours
- Field Sessions: 3 hours
Course Flow:
Online Sessions:
Familiarize yourself with necessary concepts, rules, and procedures.
Complete assignments online beforehand.
This pre-training will prepare you for practical scenarios, discussions, and addressing queries during field sessions.
Field Sessions:
Participate in a 3-hour field session after completing the online sessions.
Engage in the practical application of the material covered.
Discuss and delve deeper into the concepts learned online.
